The Embassy of the Republic of Poland with deepest regret and sorrow informs that on the 10th of April 2010 one of the greatest tragedies in the history of Poland took place. There was the tragic airplane crash near Smolensk in which, on their way to the ceremonies of the 70th Anniversary of the Katyń Massacre, H.E. President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczynski, Spouse of the President of the Republic of Poland Maria Kaczyńska, the representatives of the country’s highest authorities, high-level military and civilian leaders, official delegation and all the crew lost their lives.
